We have developed a B2B SaaS software platform for sales enablement in some of the most demanding and dynamic markets in the world. We are for-profit, based in San Francisco, California and Nairobi, Kenya, and focused on aiming market forces at the linked challenges of climate change and global development.

 

Role Objective

As Angaza’s Product Marketing Specialist, your objective is to drive adoption and usage of the Angaza software suite for Angaza’s customers. Your combination of product knowledge, customer insights, and competitive analysis will bring the product to market, and translate new features and updates into customer-facing content that communicates product value and market differentiation.

Role Summary

You will lead product marketing initiatives and go-to-market activities for the Angaza software platform. You will conduct customer and competitive research, present findings that influence stakeholders, and produce core product content and collateral for sales enablement and customer success campaigns. This role will require you to develop a deep understanding of Angaza’s customers and software platform. You will work closely with other Marketing team members (for lead generation campaigns and other content creation), as well as Product, Sales, and Customer Success teams. This position is located in San Francisco and reports to the Director of Marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Develops rigorous and ongoing competitive research and feature analyses; distills into actionable insights for Marketing, Product and Sales teams
  • Conducts customer research, building insights into buyer personas and customer profiles
  • Supports the development of product positioning and messaging based on foundational understanding of key competitors
  • Collaborates with the Product team to support R&D efforts
  • Develops content and materials that support sales enablement and retention
  • Produces the Angaza product newsletter and other feature announcements and launches
  • Works cross-functionally with the Product team to understand user requirements and develop buyer personas applicable to both teams

  • Are able to turn nuanced technical details into persuasive and pithy marketing copy
  • Enjoy cross-collaboration and synthesizing input from multiple stakeholders
  • Communicate ideas clearly both in person and virtually; are able to “sell” complex ideas to stakeholders and bring people through the creative process
  • Have strong aesthetic sense for photography and graphic design
  • Willing to travel to East Africa and other customer regions with some regularity
  • Possess a global mindset, are passionate about emerging market issues

Required experience

  • BA/BS with 3-5 years of experience in product marketing for a B2B SaaS company, experience with international customers preferred
  • Have interacted with customers and conducted customer insight and competitive research
  • Have produced content and collateral and supported the creative process — screengrabs and image manipulation, videos, web landing pages, email campaigns, copy and blog posts
  • Demonstrable experience with marketing automation and CRM software (e.g., Marketo, strong preference for Hubspot)
  • Basic Photoshop, Illustrator; video editing a strong plus
  • Experience working within a web CMS including WordPress
  • Desired experience: experience and comfort working internationally; work in emerging markets a strong plus
