Business Systems Architect

Angaza creates software that enables businesses to sell life-changing products, on credit, to low-income consumers in emerging markets. Our technology uses an IoT network of connected devices, mobile payments, and machine learning to accelerate the adoption of solar energy systems, smartphones, and appliances.

Over 2 billion people across the globe live off-grid or are unbanked.  Connecting this population to power, productive-use appliances, and financial services represents a $400 Billion+ current market opportunity. Angaza’s B2B technology platform enables distribution businesses in emerging markets to grow their revenue by over 8x by extending their sales and credit offerings to this consumer base.

When a family in Tanzania (or Nicaragua, or Nigeria, or India…) pays a weekly installment on their new home solar installation, their payment is processed by Angaza backend software. When a distributor monitors the repayment performance of their loan portfolio, they use an Angaza web application to do so. Our software is already used by businesses in 50+ countries around the world to improve the daily lives of over 5 million people.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced business systems designer to lead the integration and continuous development of Angaza’s business software, especially our recently implemented Salesforce (SFDC) instance. With a wide array of competing priorities, you will help guide us through determining which should be built out within SFDC versus other business systems and identifying the most elegant means of implementing our selected priorities. This is an opportunity to leverage your design skills to support Angaza’s mission to alleviate poverty by empowering the world’s poorest billion people with financial access to life-changing products and services. You will help us use data to focus internal process development priorities across the entire organization, drive business decisions, and benefit our customer base.   • Partner with stakeholders across Angaza to gather requirements, evaluate relevant business goals, and iteratively design improvements to our business processes and business software infrastructure which effectively leverage our available tools and talent.
  • Coordinate implementation resources including our external implementation partner and internal contributors across the organization.
  • Establish technical and human safeguards to ensure data integrity across multiple complex systems.
  • Document and train stakeholders on automated processes and best practices for users


  • The ability to innovate with empathy, designing solutions around user needs first, through a process that demonstrates respect for all stakeholders.
  • Technological agnosticism: successful candidates will be able to dispassionately weigh the relative merits of different technical solutions, including build vs buy.
  • Communication skills: our BSA needs to be able to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders with different cultural backgrounds.
  • A strong understanding of how to elegantly implement solutions in Salesforce.


  • Have experience designing, integrating, and continually improving business software solutions across a variety of business functions and multiple tools
  • Some experience designing business solutions in Salesforce is a must-have
  • A background in Product Management is very desirable but not strictly required
  • Thrive in a cooperative, mutually supportive team environment
  • Have strong design, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Pride yourself on attention to detail
  • Exhibit a strong tendency towards self-management
